Employment for Artist in Residence Programs

Standard My Art My Way residencies consist of teaching six to eight one-hour sessions. Teaching artists must complete lesson plans prior to each session and an evaluation at the end of residency, among other requirements outlined in individual offer letters. Residencies are not guaranteed for all artists in our registry as it is based on the specific needs of each county. Some teaching artists may receive multiple residencies in a school year, especially if they are willing to travel to neighboring counties.

Training

Arts4All Florida conducts webinars and conference calls throughout the school year to help teaching artists learn best practices for teaching the arts to people with disabilities. Guest speakers include experts from the field providing best practices for our artists.

Passport to Create Curriculums –

These fun and art history driven visual art curriculums cover 1 – 2 sessions each. They focus on Surrealism and Abstraction and are simple enough for any grade level. They are fully written including the cpalms codes, links to inexpensive supplies as well as visual examples of the artist and their work.

The curriculums are written allowing students to create two sets of each piece of art, having one for the student to take home and the other for the artist to mail to Arts4All Florida for exhibition purposes. Those mailed to our offices will not be given back but will be matted and shown at different venues around the state. The class, school, county and teaching artist will be recognized at the exhibition.
